About Batched Premium Cocktails

 

Our story begins in 2017, when a group of Kiwis decided to create their own drinks. Drinks that they loved and that they wanted to drink. And, so they started The Premium Liquor Co. with the goal to create premium drinks for the modern world.

Since then, we have been imagining, creating and producing a range of spirits, RTDs & mixers at our bottling plant in the beautiful coastal town of Tauranga, New Zealand. We’ve recently acquired a vineyard and cellar door in the beautiful sunny wine region of Hawkes Bay, giving us an incredible range of premium NZ wines.

To craft our spirits, we start with a pure vodka, made using water collected from the Tautau and Waiorohi spring-fed streams located on the northern island of New Zealand. We then triple distil and charcoal filter to create a pure, still spirit. From there, where we can, we source the best ingredients from local New Zealand suppliers. We have a strong network of suppliers that uphold our quality standards, and we are able to make incredible tasting drinks.

 

 

We have a strong focus on creating our products in the most sustainable way and minimal footprint on the environment.  Our manufacturing plant, Pure Bottling is heavily invested in reducing waste water and CO2 emissions, whilst building initiatives to repurpose and recycle.

From when we started out, we quickly built up a range of spirits and RTDs that we knew we would love and drink. We made some mistakes along the way, but we’ve ended up with some incredible liquids and some really fantastic brands.

Our hero brand is Batched Premium Cocktails, which we launched in 2018. The idea was to provide convenient, bar quality cocktails without all the fuss. We started with our Espresso Martini, and we captured the hearts and minds of kiwis, quickly becoming the leading cocktail brand in New Zealand. We have now expanded our range to include three new cocktails: Salted Grapefruit Margarita, Strawberry & Rhubarb Gin Sour & a Whiskey Sour. We all have huge love for Gin, and saw an opportunity to experiment with fruits and botanicals to create a range of colourful, small batch flavoured gins. Rose & Twig was born in 2020, and has rapidly grown in the NZ on-premise and travel retail – both new channels for our brands. Rose & Twig is available in three unique flavours: Pomegranate, Blood Orange and Blueberry infused Gin.

Never tiring from creating new spirits, we then created Coast Road Vodka in 2021. Inspired by the rugged New Zealand coastline and an ode to the road less travelled, we created a smooth tasting vodka, and a flavoured pink berry & rhubarb vodka. Coast road is a small batched, handcrafted vodka that is triple distilled & charcoal filtered. It’s a vodka for those who love the outdoors and are adventurous at heart, best served over ice or mixed into your favourite cocktail.

 

 

From there, we are growing on our experience with building premium brands into New Zealand wine. We acquired a beautiful vineyard in the Hawkes Bay, where our internationally renowned Mutu wine is produced. Our Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon are all oak barrel aged for a minimum of 12 months. Mutu is served in some of the best restaurants around the world, including Tokyo’s no. 1 Michelin starred restaurant, Den.

Our passionate team stand behind each of our brand’s quality and taste. We have big ambitions and are driving hard to see our much loved Kiwi drinks in the hands off consumers all over the world.
