Our mission across both our restaurants and our roastery is to “bring the world to people’s tables.” This is what unites everything we do.
“Coffee for the globally minded” is what we live out specifically at Caravan Coffee Roasters. The globally minded are people who care about the world and what’s special about it, we just roast coffee for them, coffee that speaks to where it came from and who grew it.
Speciality coffee and restaurants can be exclusive. We want to change that. We are open to all, everyone is welcome at Caravan.
No Compromise
Our Head of Coffee, Jamie, carefully sources beans from trusted producers across the Coffee Belt, guided by relationships built on respect, fairness, and quality. Every lot that comes through our doors is tasted, tested, and roasted with precision to bring out its unique character.
Jamie has built direct relationships with producers across the Coffee Belt, with a particular passion for Mexican coffee. His long-term goal is to source exceptional coffees from every coffee-growing origin, celebrating the diversity and character that each region has to offer.
We’re proud of the work we do as roasters, but we know the real work happens at origin, where the coffee is grown, harvested, and processed by hands we rarely see. Our job is to honour that work: to roast in a way that brings out the true flavour of each coffee, and to shine a light on the cultures and people behind it.
Flavour first
For us, great coffee starts long before it reaches our roastery. The expertise, dedication, and hard work belong to the producers, and our role is ensure that each coffee expresses its true character. Through careful roasting, we aim to preserve what makes each coffee unique, allowing its origin, variety, and processing to shine through in every cup.
PART OF OUR ETHOS
Sustainability has been part of our ethos from the start. As a certified B Corp and proud member of Business for Good, we’ve committed to operating in a way that benefits both people and planet. We roast on a Loring Peregrine S70, one of the world’s most energy efficient roasters, which uses hot air recirculation to cut gas consumption by up to 80 percent compared to traditional drum roasters. Our coffee is delivered in reusable buckets, and our London deliveries are made by an electric van powered by our recently installed solar panels.
More than a decade in, Caravan continues to grow, not just in size, but in spirit. Each restaurant, each cup of coffee, and each plate of food reflects our original dream: to create spaces where people come together, feel at home, and share in the richness of global culture.
