BOKA:
HONEST TO GOODNESS, WITH NOTHING TO HIDE

It took a long time for our founder Franco to come up with a solution to the problem of finding a healthier but still delicious snack for his children’s lunch boxes. He was frustrated with the selection of cereal and snack bars with claims of being healthy, whilst in reality they were high in fats, sugar and calories.

As a nod to his Italian heritage Franco named the bar Boka which is a play on the word ‘Bocca’ that means mouth in Italian.

THE BOKA BAR

Our Italian founder with his food development background, headed to the kitchen emerging 3 years later after many trials and rounds of development with the first all green traffic light cereal bar the Boka bar was born!

Having been a chef, taste was key but he also realised that cereal bars should be healthier than confectionery and most weren’t. So he ensured the Boka bar was low not just in sugar but also in fat, saturated fat and salt so there was all four green traffic lights front of pack and the bars are under 100 calories.

Fast forward to 2024 Boka opened their factory in Hampshire and commenced manufacturing the Boka cereal bar themselves ensuring the highest quality standards in taste and nutrition.

A Simple Mission

Boka knows how hard it is to make healthy food choices and Boka is committed to making it easy to find great tasting healthier snacks. 

Boka has a simple mission – we will always be transparent about what’s in our Boka cereal bars and will only make and sell Boka cereal bars that display all green traffic lights on the front of our packs.

What does this mean? The Food Standards Agency has created a nutritional traffic light system to help you at a glance see how good or bad a product is in regard to Fats, Sugar and Salt. Green is low, Amber medium, Red high. So all green traffic lights on front of pack mean low in sugar, low in fats and low in salt.

Boka is the only cereal bar in the UK with front of pack all green traffic lights – low sugar, fats, saturates and salt; Boka bars are also Vegan, high in fibre, nut free, and under 100 calories.
